With this in mind, one can better understand why premarital sexual intercourse, contraceptive sexual intercourse, masturbation, and homosexual acts are sins. Premarital Sexual intercourse is a sin. God gave intercourse to couples so that they could connect and reaffirm their marriage vows. However, for an unmarried couple, there are no marriage vows to reaffirm. Usually premarital sex is for sexual pleasure, which is a serious misuse of God’s gift. Love, as previously stated, is both the uniting of mind and soul in the same way the three persons of the Trinity love each other, AND the gift is to result in the reproduction of a human, in the likeness and image of God. Both of these things make up the act of intercourse that God gave to married couples, and cannot be separated. It is for this reason that abortion and all forms of contraceptives (the pill, condoms, and vasectomies) are a sin. Contraceptives prohibit the procreation part of the love God gave to married couples. Since the procreation part and the uniting part of this love are inseparable, the true love that was meant does not occur, and the act no longer resembles the love between the persons of the Trinity. Masturbation is an act that stems only out of self gratification. It fills neither of the intentions that God placed in his gift of sexual intercourse. There is no other person to love and connect with, and it cannot result in reproduction. It can also become an addiction which is a sin in itself. Homosexual acts are a sin too. Being homosexual is not a sin, but acting on it is. Again, it cannot fulfill the reproductive aspect of love. Also, the two people in a homosexual relationship are not married, because marriage is intended for only those of opposit...
