Why I volunteer
...I also distinctly remember complaining about getting up early on a Saturday morning to prepare, having no realization at that age how much this lifelong habit would affect the path my life would follow. From visiting the orphanage in the Philippines, to visiting nursing homes in San Francisco making the elderly happy, to serving on local boards and committees for Palo Alto Junior Chamber of Commerce, to volunteering every year to feed the less fortunate people of San Francisco Tenderloin District - community service has impacted my life. I became one of the founder of a Youth Division for a non-profit organization called Operation Health Aid. A state and federally approved charitable organization that supports public health centers in the Philippines. Youth Division specifically help the "children" of the Philippines. I was also fortunate enough to be in charge of equipment donations for the company I work for. Being in that position gave me the opportunity to donate over 100 computers, few printers, and monitors to different public schools in the Philippines under Operation Health Aid's assistance. I am planning to volunteer for few days when I get there in PI on December of this ...
