Two Main ideologies are found among Americans: “American liberalism” and “American conservatism

In what follows, by contrast, it will be argued that conservatism is a philosophy of human existence which not only deserves serious consideration but also is diametrically opposed to extremist movements of the kind just mentioned . The essence of this philosophy is the conviction that the human condition is characterized by tensions which can be mitigated, but never wholly eliminated, by political action” . (Blackwell) Identifying conservatism with capitalism, conservatism risks confusing the case for limited politics with the promotion of materialistic and consumer values that may well be incompatible with the moral, social, and political values which conservatism seeks to defend . The most compelling criticism of conservatism that is represents the core values of classical liberalism; its attitude emphasized the respect for traditional institutions, distrust of government activism, and opposition to sudden change in the established order . Implementation of change should be minimal and gradual; Conservatism's appreciate history and are more realistic than idealistic but respect individuality . Between the ideologies American Liberalism; because of their radical liberals, American liberalism has drifted further from its roots then American conservatism . American liberalism, trying to uphold their most valued belief they have combined other ideologies into their beliefs; such as Fascism and Socialism . Conservatism has also made a change to their roots by adapting liberalism standards to try and regain society . They both contradict each other to try and maintain their appearance in the modern society today .
