A modern day messenger know as the Fox News Channel reports the news and controversial political stories that educate the general population about modern politics. Some people like Al Franken question the truth behind the Fox News Channel with their huge support towards the Republicans and their extremes conservative use of rightwing media. In Franken’s book Lies he calls out Rupert Murdoch, the owner and founder of the Fox News Channel for being a messenger full of lies. The twelve chapter in Al Franken’s book is titled “The Chapter on Fox” and really makes you question today’s current mainstream media. The Fox News Channel got under way in the year of 1996 under a man named Rupert Murdoch who has successfully covered the globe with his business. Under his control is that of many major magazines, the most read newspapers and the most watched satellite broadcasting stations. In which Franken says is all used to persuade and push the entire population of the world a little more to right, where Rupert is. When started the Fox News Channel (FNC) was portrayed under its slogan as “fair and balanced” a news channel that covers both sides of the story. Franken tells us this was picked by Murdoch’s right hand man Roger Ailes who was assigned to run his network channel. The same man who helped Nixon, Reagan and Bush get elected as Republican Presidents.
