What is humor? According to the Compact Oxford University dictionary, humor is a state of mind and the quality of being amused. Three thousands years ago, the ancient Greeks also had a definition of humor which is called low brow and they also came up with high-brow concept specifically for tragedy and drama. They do not have middle-brow comedy back then because there were not any middle class until later. When the middle class came to existence, they merged the already existed Greek concept of high brow into comedy and the middle-brow comedy also comes to exist. Therefore, today we have a new formula of comedy. Comedy of today includes three levels: high brow, middle brow and low brow. They all have one thing in common is that they all take advantage of the efficient timing and repetition of humor. The oldest one of them all is high-brow humor and it is mostly about politics, culture and history. High-brow comedians usually put down middle class and the majority .
