Art in the eighties

” I did not realize that there were so many different people that made the holocaust possible. From doctors, to lawyers, to school teachers, all of them knew or had an idea of what was going on and continued to support it or at least make the decision to not do anything to try and stop it. This is a pretty scary thought. To know that a crazy group of people that got only about thirty percent of the countries votes murdered millions of people is one thing, but to know that millions of other people actually helped, and millions more decided not to do anything about it just blows my mind. How can a thing like this become accepted by so many people? I mean, I know there is a whole bunch of different things that make up the answer to that question, but still… essentially that is what happened, a whole bunch of people bought into the belief that this mass murdering was ok. I would like to say the human race will learn from this and it will never happen again, but I believe other genocides have happened before and or after that… so I can’t be sure. 4/11 A sort of “breath of fresh air”, if you can call it that, to all this is the fact that in the end the Nazi’s were defeated. Though they did an overwhelming amount of evil, and though there were an abundance of people who either helped or did not do anything, in the end good still came out victorious. This is kind of relaxing and warming to know, that even a party as evil as the Nazi’s, lead by one of the most evil people in the world, the good still outweighed them.
