The most talked about issue in these past couple of months has been abortion. Should abortion be de-criminalised in Victoria? This one question had been racing through everyone’s mind. Abortion is a medical procedure that terminates pregnancy, in other words it is the killing of an innocent child while it is still in the womb. Should abortion be made legal? I think not. Legalising abortion will be like legalising MURDER. In the past, abortions could be performed if the doctor certified that the pregnancy is a genuine threat to the mother’s life. The new law now allows women to have an abortion in the first 24 weeks of pregnancy and later if they get the agreement of two doctors. Why should abortion be made legal now?
