Memo
The purpose of this memo is to analyse the sample data according to the specific tasks given: • It can be seen that all managers with bonus eligibility and more than fifteen years of experience are paid more than those managers supervising less than 300 employees and this is evidenced by the larger mean in task 1-a. in terms of the spread it can also be seen that managers supervising less than 300 employees had greater variability as this is evidenced by their larger standard deviation • When the managers in task 1-c where ordered from the smallest value to the largest value the number in the middle of the data is (median) 126096. 2 and in task 1-d it is 85596. 52. Both are not actual values in the data. The median is less than the mean which means that the data if plotted will be positively skewed. • In terms of annual salary appearing most frequently, in task 1-c it is N/A and in Task 1-c is? 85399. 9 this is due to the fact that the number of managers supervising less than 300 employees in the data used is higher than managers with bonus eligibility and more than 15 years of experience. • In Task 1-c the sample variance is larger than that in Task 1-d which means the data is spread out more in relation to the mean.
