Eveline vs Araby

The decision for Eveline was very hard to make; she had to decide whether to run away with a person named Frank or choose her family by ignoring her love. Eveline’s father and brothers were not very friendly, and she had to work hard and obey the strict rules to please her family. In other words, she was a reserved girl, looking for her own happiness. Likewise, in the story “Araby”, the author is living with his uncle and aunty. The aunty is a little friendly, but the uncle is not very supportive. The author is also a hard worker and reserved person, looking for his happiness as well. Therefore, the themes of these stories are mostly alike to each other. The setting of both stories took place in Dublin, Ireland. The time is afternoon or evening, and the protagonist is thinking about children playing in field. At the end, both stories happened at a public place; one in a market, and the other in a boarding station.
