Summary of Star Girl, by Jerri Spinelli
Jerri Spinelli wrote a stupendous fantasy novella, called Stargirl. In this marvelous Novella a new girl enrolls at Mica High, with an unusual name of Stargirl. The question being asked at Mica High is “have you seen her yet? ” Some people know about the very eccentric Stargirl, but others haven’t had the opportunity of trying to understand who she is. All of the students just can’t understand Stargirls peculiar ways, such as; dancing with her ukulele, singing happy birthday to everybody on their birthday, and leaving presents on people’s desks. Nobody really knows what to think of this strange girl, until suddenly she became the most popular girl in school. Stargirl joined all the clubs at school, including the cheerleading team; which before you know, she is the head cheerleader. Everybody at school was now in love with her free soul. For some weird reason she captures the attention of Leo Borlock, a junior at Mica. Stargirls classmates don't know whether to love her for having the courage to be different, or hate her for not following the crowd, like everyone else.
