We are vaguely conscious, not fully aware of how we have vulgarized the utilitarian role of education. The students who get gold medals from universities are unable to win even dust medals from life. After completing their education they are lost in oblivion. Now the question arises why the shining stars of the campus lose their brightness when they face the real life. Kabir, Nanak, Buddha, Rama, Krishana etc. perhaps can not pass even the modern matriculation examination but they have carved their niche in life. They have immensely contributed in the welfare of society. On the other hand our students are crying ‘Jindabad, Murdabad'. They are throwing stones, breaking the glasses and pushing the girls. They attend lectures only when girls are in the class.
