the Middle Ages in Europe were full of surprises. They can best be described by the following labels: the Dark Ages, the Golden Ages as well as the Ages of Faith. The downfall of education, invasions, wars, and death by the plague caused the Dark Age. The rise of Christianity makes it the Faith period and last, but not least, the literary, artistic and architectural advances that took place made Europe a so called “Golden Age. ” All these labels with different meanings have one thing in common. They are all describing one great and unforgettable period of time in Europe-the Middle Ages! The third term to best describe the Middle Ages in Europe in the Age of Faith. Everything the citizens did revolved around the Christian Church and religion, thus making this the Age of Faith and belief. The pope had lots of pope has lots of power. He could control how their emperor ruled and much power he had over the citizens.
