. After 7 trials, we noticed that the string was fraying, but according to our results it had no effect on the data . The inconsistencies in our data are because we were unable to secure the string to the table when we were setting up the experiment . Because the group members had to hold the string, it was constantly moving and being pulled more or less taut . Conclusion: The results of our lab were not very consistent and varied from 245 .7-47 .8 . After breaking down each trial and looking at our observations, we can explain the inconsistencies in our data . We could have improved our lab procedure if instead of having group members hold the string to secure it, we either taped it or clamped it to the table . This would have produced much more precise results .
