the problems of the African chid
In this continent people, in general, and children in particular are overwhelmed with the world most serious problems. Whenever we see the image of an African child, we imagine food shortage, war, starvation, malnutrition so on and so forth. In effect, in spite of the great dynamic movement of the world towards the well being of the child, millions across the continent are in a miserable situation. In this chapter, I am going to limit myself around the out standing problems which are as follows slavery, starvation, and ultimately the HIV AIDS pandemic. As a major problem, slavery is a serious problem in Africa a considerable number of people will imagine the shipping of millions of Africans to work as slaves in cotton and sugar plantation is USA in 1800 somewhere they heard of slavery. Unfortunately, slavery is not a part of our history it is a part of our present despite the universal charters and agreements which forbid such a practice as in article 4 of CCR no one shall be held in slavery or servitude; slavery and the slave trade shall be prohibited in all their forms. Far from being confined to history, contemporary slavery takes many forms and affects people of all ages mainly children of Africa . In this respect trafficking is a major form of modern slavery. It refers to the transport of children from one area to another to force them work into slavery condition. Child slavery has became a profitable trade for remorseless people who exploit the African children in harsh situation and send them to work long period with little money or no pay at all.
