Santiago Rivera Gonzalez Should murders be executed in Ecuador? Who we are to decide who lives or who dies? Even if someone has committed a crime, the death penalty is not fair punishment. In fact, executing people is not an efficient method for controlling crime. Moreover, it causes suffering for inmates and their families. Also, execution of innocent people might be done in the name of justice. Hence, the purpose of our entire criminal justice system is to protect life, liberty and property for all its citizens. Consequently, murders should not be executed in Ecuador because it violates fundamental human rights, it denies the possibility for a person to change his life and it does not reduce murders. Execution violates human rights, and no one can deny that justice system is full of blood because the legal system is not protecting life, not facing problems on the streets, and not creating a social conscience. First, the entire society must pursue the well being of all its members, through capital punishment it goes against the social order.
