So we don’t immediately notice these changes that are occurring – how we are slowly dying, and how everything around us is slowly dying – and what I mean by dying is, how all the opportunities and options that were once available to us are closing their doors – and it is part of the human condition – a condition of the mind – that we perceive our lives this way . As human’s we are automatically prompted to view our lives in a reality on just one single page . For instance: a companion . Our immediate visual, audible, etc, perception of our life long companion contains all the richness and memories associated with the extent of that relationship . As humans, we need to take a step back to objectively perceive this . At that point, we can see our companions for what they truly are at that moment in time, but it is not easy to view reality, without sinking into the past . For that reason, we are affected by our past this way . We are instinctively prompted to perceive our past as who we are, when the harsh reality is that the past is who we were, and that we have changed . It is complacency, but it makes this world, shuttling through time, ours by anchoring things and people down with memories .
