dragon essay...something to get over during my senior year
English IV 3 September 2009 Dragon Essay On the hottest time of day, sweat dripping down my face just standing there; 3:30 after school football practice; the worst pain of my life. Almost a life time injury but with therapy; I am now able to run, walk and stand. It was all down to the last play of the practice, I laced up my cleats squirted some water in my mouth to rehydrate my self; getting focused for the hardest fall I didn’t see coming. The play call was man to man so I had the huge giant tide-end he was big like a dog compared to an ant. I felt like there was a hundred pound bull sprinting at me for ten yards then, he cut to the left like, a car spinning out to make a sharp turn. As soon as he cut I jumped from him to the tall skinny receiver. It was almost like leap frog jumping from one leaf to another to eat more flies. After a few steps of funning with the receiver; I had a feeling that he was going to get the ball some way or another so I tightened up my man coverage, I was pretty much his shadow running every direction he did until the last few seconds when the ball was thrown up in the air. Everything felt like slow motion when the ball was in the air; the longest five seconds of my life. We jumped as high as we could together like, cheetahs trying to get there pray out of the tree; and as we thought we were both going to catch the ball, there it was; my own teammate knocked both of us out of the air sending us five yards from where we were.
