Terry Fox When participating in the annual Terry Fox run at my school I am often tired after a single lap around the soccer field. This makes me appreciate how Terry Fox ran the equivalent of millions of soccer fields on one leg. He was entering the prime of his life when he was diagnosed with bone cancer in his leg. At the time, the only solution was to amputate the limb. He had surgery at the young age of eighteen. To many, this would mean a time to give up and lose hope. However, not Terry, in fact, he even named his journey “The Marathon of Hope. ” Throughout Terry’s time running he showed tremendous grit and determination on numerous occasions.
