Bench Press It is performed at the Bench Press station. The proper technique is to extend the bar so that it is over your chest while you are lying down on the bench. The Squat It is performed next racks that hold the 45-pound bars. The proper technique is to grasp the bar on both sides and place it between your neck and your traps. Bend down while keeping your back straight and facing foreword. Go down until your knees are almost at a 90-degree angle, then stand up. To spot the exercise, you must place your hand on the person’s back, preventing them from falling.
