There used to be a time when I would be anxious, even excited to go and babysit for someone. Sadly that time has ended. I have been subjected to numerous fiascos throughout my babysitting career. One in particular that I believe, without a doubt has attributed to the decline in my enthusiasm toward babysitting. My next door neighbours have a young son named Rafael. At the time Rafael must have been less than one year old. Anyway, Rafael’s parents called to ask if I could babysit for them while they went out to dinner. I had never babysat for them before so I was hesitant in saying yes. From what I had seen Rafael was a cute little kid and was reasonably well-behaved. After several seconds of pondering my decision I agreed to babysit for them. Little did I know at the time, but I was in for one of the most horrendous four hours of my life. I arrived at my neighbour’s house at around six thirty, so I could meet Rafael and learn to find my way around their house. I spent about fifteen minutes getting the grand tour of their humble abode, when that ended I sat in the living room and played with Rafael while his parents got ready to leave.
