1999: What Seemed the Longest Summer of My Life! The summer began as all my summers do. I finished my final exams at school, and was looking forward to a summer filled with fun, swimming, and sleeping in. I had my entire summer planned. Many of my plans included a friend that lived across the street. Her name was Ariel. I used to play with Ariel almost every day. Some days, we would play for 6 or 7 hours at a stretch. One night, we even played until it was almost 10:00 at night. We had fun. However, when we fought, we fought. We would fight over stupid little things, and many times it was just because we were tired and getting on each other’s nerves. I can remember one particular time when we ended up getting into an argument. Before, our fights were mostly about who was going to wear what during our dress-up days, or how we were going to avoid playing with Ariel’s sister Bree.
