Journal # 5/ Religion & Magic The relationship of religion and magic seems to do one of two things; it either changes one¡¯s life in and of itself or by the power of a supreme being. Religion has been defined as human¡¯s seeking for and responding to what is experienced as holy (Schmidt, 88). We have also defined the social structure of religion as ways provided for building a network of social relationships and a place to belong. Religion should or does meet the needs of humans where as magic is used to master and manipulate supernatural power. It can be used for good and evil.
