Grass is Greener on the Other Side of the Fence Have you ever been driving and you see a vehicle that looks better than yours, and you think to yourself that you really wished you had that vehicle? Have you ever seen a house that looked better then the one that you are living in now, and said that you wished you had that house? Have you ever been at work and said to yourself you wished you had a job at a different company? Many people in the world have, including myself. Truly, we all have wanted something that seemed better or we thought would be better. If you answered yes to any of the above questions then you might think “the grass is greener on the other side of the fence.” I will explain, with the help of my own stories, that this proverb is very important. This proverb teaches a very important lesson about jealousy. When you are done reading this paper, hopefully, you will know why this proverb is very important in my life. “The grass is greener on the other side of the fence” is a proverb you use to say that the things other people have or their situation always looks better than your own, even when they are not really so.
