The Taming of the Shrew 5 x 5 Essay The marriages in The Taming of the Shrew are all different in many ways. One marriage is about how two people fall in love with each other while the other is about how much one will make marrying rich. There are three marriages in this play, Petruchio and Kate, Lucentio and Bianca, and Hortensio and the Widow. At the end of the play Petruchio and Kate have a much stronger relationship going then the Widow and Hortensio. This may be because Petruchio shows more dominance over Kate and agrees to what he has to say and obeys him. Petruchio and Kate’s marriage will most likely be the most successful and strongest out of all three marriages in this play.
