John Constable is a well-recognized landscape painter whom was born on June 11, 1776 in East Bergholt, Suffolk and died on March 31, 1837. Constable was interested in painting from early youth and had a great passion for the land and scenery where he was born. Constables art and mastery of landscape painting influenced many other painters and today, Constable’s works are easily recognized and much acclaimed for the attention to detail and beautiful scenes they depict.
John Constable grew up as the son of a wealthy mill-owner and took and interest in painting from an early age. According to Graham Reynolds in his book Constable, Constable thought of the scenes around him as pictures before he had the technical skills to give them form.
