A Beautiful Mind - Revisited Ron Howard used a range of techniques to make a some-what subdue story an inspirational testimony of the courage of the human spirit. Ron successfully uses such techniques as non-diegetic sound, camera angles and lighting to make it a successful film. Non-diegetic sounds where used to exaggerate different types of atmospheres. In the storm scene the banging of the shudders sound level was increased to add more emotive feeling to the situation. When we hear loud banging noises we get an uneasy feel, almost a feeling of fear. Doing this would increase the viewers emotions and feelings in the way which the director wants.
