There's a brand new world out there for small business internationally. While the international market offers significant opportunities, it also presents numerous challenges. To do international business as a small firm several factors must be taken into consideration like, government regulations, cultural and language differences, and sociopolitical and financial systems currently in place. In today's society it is much easier to gather such information and plan ways to compete effectively and conquer the barriers to international business. Previously a small business had to possess large amounts of capital compete head to head with large multinational firms. Even having the necessary funds to compete, many times is easily negated by the resources large corporations possess. These efficiencies are far too difficult for small firms to recreate. Minor local and national factors such as travel and contacts become major issues for smaller businesses doing business internationally.
