This summary wants to analyse some of the main changes and trends which the tourism industry had encountered for about three-month period from the individual articles. There were the factors and forces which affected the tourism industry from inside or outside of New Zealand. To be able to analyse the phenomena from within the tourism industry it will be necessary to look at the industry with economic, socio-cultural circumstantial factors and the traveller behaviour, which the industry faced in the period.

In Canada, especially in Toronto, China, Hong Kong and Singapore, where the SARS deaths are concentrated, those countriesĄŻ economies have been shaken and tourism industries have been a serious depression especially after the WHO put out and advisory recommending travellers leave from those countries. The SARS epidemic has stagnated Asian economies with air travel and tourism sectors being hardest hit along with hotels, restaurants and retail businesses. ... It is clear that tourism would suffer as tourists have less money to spend on their travels and leisure activities.
