Bombs Away Case in point one: George W. Bush is a trigger happy, irrational, incoherent (albeit improving) who is our President as of today, 3/7/2003. One cannot open the newspaper without a political cartoon mocking his stature, his undeserved power, and his relationship to his father. He is above the law: the cocaine jugging, illiterate son of a former president. Caste in point two: Undershaft is the wealthy man always in the papers. Stephen is all too aware of his father's wealth. He rarely opens a newspaper without reading of the latest weapon from the Undershaft and Lazarus firm. With his cannons and war loans, Andrew Undershaft has Europe under his thumb. He is above the law. Britomart remarks that Undershaft has broken the law since birth, as his parents were unmarried. Bernard Shaw did not write Major Barbara in an attempt to purposely poke prudence at our current President. However, the point underneath it all remains. Money buys equipment, equipment means power. Today, America has its panties in a knot because Iraq apparently had the secret equipment that leads to power. Oh no! Whatever shall we do. Apparently, we sic the UN on their asses, and when Iraq is shot down, continue to harbor OUR weapons of mass destruction as collateral for “Don’t mess with us” foreign policy that our current administrations have spewed forth.
