As teachers, every child that we come into contact with will have different needs. Childrens needs are similar to fingerprints on the surface they all look the same but on closer inspection they are all different. It is essential that as teachers we look at each of these needs and consider them in our planning, teaching and assessment. Teachers need to know how to differentiate the learning process for each individual child. This task may be difficult and cumbersome but it is one of the skills, which can make the teaching process effective. Careful planning and assessment is essential if we are to provide tasks, which seek to benefit all children in our care. Schools and teachers need to equip themselves with the necessary knowledge and experience so that these needs are dealt with adequately.
