War from heaven or from hell

Some consider war as a devastating, peace-breaker action; some others perceive it as a solution to the unsolvable seemed issues. War is defined as a fight between nations or states, carried on by force, whether for defense, acquisition of territory, or for establishing the superiority and dominion of one over the other. In the story “Editha”, by Dean Howells, the author portraits two opposite attitudes towards war, and reflects them on the main characters, Editha and George, who are a young engaged couple. This comparison analysis will show the differences between Editha’s and George’s attitude toward war.
