Feeding off a Fear Factor By Alex Cartwright This article of the Financial Times posted on Monday, April 15, 2002 on page 9, is whether or not a company should advertise a shark repellent device. The companies name is Sea Change Technologies, and they developed a little, metal device the size of a notebook that straps on to your leg, and sends out electronic signals that are uncomfortable to sharks. They go for about $700 a pop and weigh about a pound. According to the Florida Based International Shark Attack file there were only 76 attacks last year with only 5 deaths.
