Manipulating Parents The term "manipulating" often refers to being shrewd or devious in a fraudulent manner. Parents are usually manipulated by there children in an act of desire, control, or to be taking advantage of. A child suffering abuse at the hands of there nurtures may resort in an effort to manipulate. This creates a setting of how a child can easily take advantage of his or her parents. Should parents be manipulated or should they not? On the web site http://www.paralumun.com/anorexiaparents.htm it has tips for parents on how not to be manipulated by there children. One of the tips states "Do not put a child down by comparing them to there "successful" siblings or friends. Do not ask questions such as, "How are you feeling?" or "How is your social life?" I don't find any evidence that says if you ask your child questions such as these that they can use to manipulate or take advantage.
