Malcolm X was one of America’s most outspoken civil right activists of the 1960’s; his approach towards equality for African Americans was radical and also interpreted as a violent movement during those times. Malcolm X’s approach to securing Civil Rights was that he “believed in action on all fronts by whatever means necessary ” meaning secured independence within the African American community and/or meeting violence with violence to secure equality. ... X’s speech “The Ballot or the Bullet” was given in 1964 his intent was to inform the public on how politicians behaved towards African Americans. ... X was fed up with this type of treatment, he communicated to the people to start taking extra care about their vote and to “wake up”.
