Philip Lorca Di Corcia This exhibit dealt with the routines of everyday life of ordinary people-Ironing clothes, a mother bathing a child, sleeping, bathing, etc. Although Di Corcia states he is portraying a fictional series, I believe there was nothing fictional at all. All photos were the same format. HIs first photograph of the series was tilted towards the right , where I felt like physically re- arranging the frame vertically. If he meant for the photograph to be horizontal, why not shoot the image in a horizontal frame? Or, perhaps even print it horizontally. His lighting techniques were remarkable, but I did not find his images to be luring at all.
