PEPSI vs COKE
Although, both Coca-Cola and Pepsi have been strong competitors for decades, both companies have their own strong and weak points. In last three years, Pepsi’s Net sales have been higher than Coca-cola. Even though Coke is trying as hard as Pepsi in promoting its product, but some how Pepsi has managed to beat them in net sales. The reason behind the growth of sales for Pepsi could be that it has much variety to offer. It has Pepsi, Mountain Dew, Slice, Frito Lays and couple of years ago Pepsi went into partnership with Lipton and came out with Lipton Ice Tea. Apart from that, Pepsi bought Starbucks Frappuccino. ... McDonalds, Burger King and Wendy’s have contract with Coke whereas, Pepsi has contract with KFC, Subway and Pizza Hut. Although, Coke is well known in New York City, Pepsi seems to have made its place strong and better in the market as the sales figure shows for itself.
In last few years, Pepsi’s cost of sales (COGS) has gone up and the reason behind the growth is that Pepsi is trying hard to gain a consumers’ attention towards them and gain a greater market share.
