Our Freedom My thoughts today are with the thousands of soldier’s families who are in the Iraq war with the United States and its allies. I do not know if I would have such strong convictions if I had not had grandfathers in every war since the American Revolution. I had four grandfathers seven generations ago in the American Revolution who fought for our rights that we enjoy today. One fought under George Washington who would become our first President. George Washington is my favorite president and who I base most of my thoughts of what an American citizen should be. This February was colder than usual and made me realize the difficulties his men faced at Valley Forge. The odds were against them, their rations poor, and their abilities less than those of their adversaries.
