Over the past couple hundred years our industry on the planet has grown by leaps and bounds. From the conception of the steam engine to the cars we drive everyday, we have filled the atmosphere with ever increasing amounts of gases. Many scientists have come to the conclusion that many of these gases are harmful to the ozone layer that protects our planet from the harmful rays of the sun. The result is expected to be increases in temperatures around the world. Areas that currently enjoy moderate temperatures could become hot and dry. Those areas that are already hot and dry could then become deserts. Some even say that glaciers in our artic regions will begin to melt, thus flooding a large amount of inhabited land. Collectively this is known as Global Warming. Global warming is a result of a buildup of Green House gases. These include Carbon monoxide from the fossil fuels we burn, including the cars we drive.
