“The Jungle” is one of the most important books I ever read. This book was also very different from the rest of the books there are. Usually, authors try to adjust the contents of the books in order not to offend anyone and try to show both sides of the story. In his book, however, Upton Sinclair’s only goal was to describe the horrible conditions of the new immigrants who came to United States in early 1900s. I was amazed by how he criticized politics and rich people, and the whole way of life. Even in our times, anyone can find himself somehow connected to the way the life was in 1900s.
