The success of the United States’ Containment Policy during the Cold War is question which has puzzled historians for many years. The enforcement of this policy was first seen in Greece when the communistic groups began waging warfare against the monarchists. ... This proved to be one of the more successful components to the Containment Policy because it had successfully ended communistic filtration into Europe. ...
Another manifestation of the Containment Policy at is peak is with the Cuban missile crisis. ... Khrushchev would back down and because of the United States’ stern policy the communists had suffered another blow which would be one of the many reasons for the fall of the Soviet Union.
