I was brought up in a conservative home when I was younger, and kosher was only something we kept inside the house, but was allowed when we went to a restaurant. That was the only thing I knew about kosher because we didn’t live near any religious people. When I started getting older and all of my friends were starting to grow into the girls they are now, and choosing their directions for life, I had a decision to make to. I decided I wanted to be kosher. It started out easy; I would go and only drink a soda, or have dairy out. Then I started not to go at all. When my family would go out, I would make up an excuse not to go.
