In the book In His Steps, Charles M. Sheldon did a great job at mixing characters from all different walks of life and combining them all together in a singular cause. Sheldon cut out most of the dry and boring details and produced a very popular book which has had a great impact on its millions of readers. In his Christian fiction book, Sheldon used a wandering homeless, jobless, tramp who was in very bad health to influence a larger crowd who then influenced a whole city and then from that city, the influence went abroad to other parts of the world.
