Recombinant DNA technology is currently one of the most useful advances in technology that contributes to medical, agricultural and environmental developments. Researchers, scientists and universities supported by governments all around the world have been researching for more ways of using recombinant DNA technology. However, there are many debates regarding the ethical use of recombinant DNA technology since selected genes of other species are transferred between species.
The manipulation of genes transferring gene from one organism to another organism can be referred as ¡°biotechnology¡± the techniques of recombinant DNA. As we know all living things have cells and these cells contain DNA. Firstly, the extraction of DNA can be extracted by using many different techniques. For example, DNA can be extracted from cells by the nuclei by centrifuging, treating these nuclei with special chemicals to remove the nuclear membrane and then isolating the DNA from the nuclear proteins. After the extraction of DNA from the cells, DNA containing the required gene that is ¡°snipped¡± or cut into fragments using restriction enzymes also known as "genetic scissors. ... The fragments are then inserted into a host cell for example, bacterial cell which has small circular pieces of DNA cut with the same restriction enzyme, known as plasmids.
