Jimi Hendrix is arguably the best guitarist that has ever lived. He dazzled audiences with his flashy clothes and mind-boggling performances. He created so-called “psychedelic” rock and set the tone for all upcoming musicians. Jimi had his own influences that helped him become the great musician that he was. Some of his influences were Elvis Presley, Chuck Berry, Ray Charles and, James Brown, just to name a few. Jimi’s most important influence was his manager Chas Chandler. Jimi was born to James Allen Hendrix and Lucille Jeter in Seattle General Hospital, Washington on November 27th, 1942 (“Crosstown Traffic”; Murray 34).
