Edger Allan Poe had a traumatic life that may have affected his writing. In all his works the women died horrible deaths, just like many women that were close to him died. I believe that his life affected how he writes, but that he did not have a horrid life to make his stories better. As I wrote before, his terrible life was reflected in his writings. This man had a real family only until he was two, his mother died then. His father was also abusive and left when Poe was born. I think that his mother dieing was a main reason why most of the women characters died in his stories, and also his father being abusive probably made him think that women should be put down and put in lower positions.
