Beowulf was recorded by an unknown monk who had been told the story orally. Beowulf a warrior from Geatland had heard of a monster destroying and killing for many years in Denmark. Beowulf decides to get fourteen of his bravest men and sail to Denmark to kill the monster. Beowulf is the epitome of a Anglo-Saxon hero.
As an Anglo-Saxon hero, Beowulf shows the importance of his armor he wears into battle. If killed in battle Beowulf request for Hrothgar to send his armor to Hygelac the king of the Danes to show his loyalty.
