Ya You know

Arthur Miller’s play, The Crucible, creates many different themes. One theme would be that fear and suspicion are infectious and can produce a state of general hysteria that results in the destruction of public order and rationality. Some of the events can actually be used to incorporate these themes into events of our own time. Terrorist suspicions and Sniper attacks have changed the reality of our every day life. Witchcraft and terrorist activities relate to one of Arthur Miller’s themes in the Crucible in many diverse ways. Throughout Miller's play the people of the town of Salem were cautious of the so called witches. Witchcraft was a vast fear of the puritans in Salem. Most of the people in Salem were very poor and inexperienced, and believed in many false ideas. This made the Puritans quick to judge a person for any explanation of witchcraft. The minister’s daughter and niece happened to be ill enhanced the fact that it was witchery. The puritans lived through brutal invasions by Indians and pirates, as well as Dutch and French warships.
