The focus areas of the School Management Group are leadership and management of the Singapore schools we visited from 20 th to 23 rd March, 2001. This is a report on what is happening in these schools, how they are led and how they succeed in promoting effectiveness and improvement in their schools. It was through the recommendation of our mutual friend and the arrangement of the SMC that we came into contact with them. We found that they are successful in promoting well-rounded education evident from their outstanding performance in public examinations. Some schools are winners of the Value-added Award and made remarkable improvement. As continuous improvement is our vision, we could become better schools by learning from each other.
