A Letter to Torvold Dear Torvold I guess you have received the letter Krogstad has sent you. I really can’t stand the pressure any more. I must confess that I have been spending a lot. Have you ever thought why I have been acting this way? Well, my darling, it all goes back to the days when you were sick. You were going to die, unless you went to a southern place that is quiet, like Italy. Those days were the hardest I have ever been through. I was a pregnant woman about to give birth to my first child; you and Papa were sick. I couldn’t possibly get any money to finance your trip from Papa he was in a really critical condition.
