... During the Elizabethan era, going to theatre was one of the main sources of entertainment. Out of these theatres, the Globe Theatre is said to be the finest. The Globe provided entertainment not just for the rich people, but also for the poor. The Globe Theatre has many interesting facts about it including the history of it, the structure of it, and appeal of it.
There were actually two Globe theatres in which Shakespeare’s plays were performed. The original Globe Theatre was built on Banside in Southwark in the year of 1599. ... The roof caught on fire and within two hours the entire theatre was burnt to the ground. After this theatre burnt down, a second Globe theatre was built at the exact location.
